Advising and Career Planning Undergraduate Advising Academic Advising in the College of Agriculture is required for incoming freshmen, 2nd semester freshmen, transfer students, and re-entry students or if you have had academic action taken in the previous semester. If any of these scenarios applies, you need to have an advising flag lifted; Mrs. Elva Bourgeois (ebourgeois@lsu.edu) is the only one in the School that can do this, and to have a flag raised, you must be advised by your assigned advisor first.
Although not required for most students, advising is strongly recommended for all students.Why? Advising can:
Academic advising generally occurs prior to scheduling in the fall for spring and summer courses, and in the spring for summer and fall courses; however, students can meet with their advisor at any time. Announcements are made in Human Ecology classes and via email that course scheduling is beginning and students need to make an appointment with their academic advisor.

To be advised, you must bring a current degree audit. Without this, you cannot and will not be advised—there are no exceptions. To download a degree audit, go to your PAWS account. You can also get a print out of your degree audit from the College of Agriculture.
