The Patrick Lecture Series
The Patrick Lecture Series was established in 1998 through an endowment to the LSU Foundation from Drs. Bill and Ruth Patrick. The endowed fund sponsors an annual lecture which alternates in the fields of Human Nutrition / Food Science and Wetland Sciences / Coastal Studies. The lecturer is an individual who has achieved outstanding international distinction in the designated field. Each year, a noted scholar is nominated by the faculty then selected by a faculty committee. The lecturer is invited to spend several days on the Louisiana State University Campus. Numerous lectures are presented, including a general interest lecture to a wide audience, a scientific lecture for the faculty and students, as well as group meetings with faculty and students.
